Many of our customers initially tried to do business in Asia on their own and import products directly from China. During these attempts, however, they have encountered several problems. These problems ranged from misunderstandings about agreements made, negotiations that were unexpectedly stopped, to products that did not meet expectations. In many cases, it turned out that the so-called factory in China was actually an intermediary, leading to uncertainty and risks in the commercial transactions.

Depending on what stage you are in at the time you enlist our help, these are the steps of the import process.
Are you seriously interested in importing goods from China and Vietnam? Do you have a part of your production process that you would like to have made in Asia, of at least the same quality but at lower cost? Then we are the right partner for you and we would like to meet. EWD-Compass has more than 15 years of experience and in that time has shipped more than thousands of containers to destinations all over the world. We help our customers every day to import high-quality products from China and Vietnam at the right rates. During this introductory meeting, we would like to get to know you better so that we can get a clear picture of what you are looking for and especially what requirements your product has.
After an introductory meeting with us in our office, we will have clearly identified who you are and what you are looking for. We then start our sourcing and start looking for the right plant for you. We mainly work with semi-finished products in steel, aluminum and fiberglass reinforced plastics. Many of our customers are therefore mainly looking for parts of a larger end product, and are looking for high-quality products, coupled with the assurance of timely and correct delivery. During the sourcing process, we provide you with a comprehensive quote from various manufacturers. EWD-Compass then takes the lead in calculating the total final price for you, including all transport costs, import duties and any anti-dumping levies.
After we find several factories that meet your requirements, we schedule visits. Do you value your own factory visit? Then of course you are welcome to come with us to Asia. We assess the factories on various criteria and then prepare a detailed report. Our team in China and Vietnam has in-depth knowledge of the requirements these factories must meet. Moreover, we speak fluent Mandarin and Vietnamese, which allows us to do business directly in both China and Vietnam.
Have you done any research on your own and found a supplier or factory that seems to fit your requirements? Then have a factory audit as a separate service by us, so you won't be surprised and you know that this supplier meets your requirements. We do this process from as little as 475 euros.
Although we offer a factory audit as a separate service, we would strongly recommend that you entrust the entire import process to us. We have built long-term relationships with factories and suppliers, which allows us not only to ensure product quality, but also to negotiate and broker efficiently so that your import is carried out seamlessly and with the utmost care.
Na het vinden van de juiste fabriek gaan we duidelijke afspraken maken. Het is belangrijk om alles goed op papier te zetten wanneer je zaken doet met een fabrikant in Azië. Dit betekent afspraken maken over de kwaliteit en specificaties van het product. De belangen van zowel jouw product als jouw bedrijf beschermen we door middel van geheimhoudingsovereenkomsten (Non-Disclosure Agreements, NDA’s) Verder nemen we samen de voorwaarden door over hoe en wanneer het product geleverd wordt en hoe de betaling geregeld is. En natuurlijk praten we ook over de prijs en zetten we alle kosten op een rijtje, zodat je precies weet waar je aan toe bent. Dit alles doen we om ervoor te zorgen dat zowel jij als de fabrikant tevreden zijn en met een goed gevoel zaken kunnen doen.
Afspraken gemaakt? Dan is het tijd om samples te laten maken. Deze samples worden grondig gecontroleerd door onze specialisten, en natuurlijk ook door jou. Zo weten we zeker of de fabriek de gewenste kwaliteit kan leveren. De samples worden grondig en tot op de millimeter gecontroleerd. Fout in het sample? Dat lossen we op met de fabriek, totdat we de gewenste kwaliteit in grote producties kunnen garanderen.
Wanneer het sample is goedgekeurd gaat de fabriek produceren. Gedurende het productieproces houdt EWD-Compass, of dit nu in China of Vietnam is, een strikt oog op de naleving van de levertijden. Wij blijven continu in contact met de fabriek om de levertijden te monitoren, de planning voor kwaliteitscontroles te coördineren, het transport te regelen en alle benodigde documentatie te verzorgen. Bovendien kunnen klanten de voortgang van hun bestelling en productiestatus real-time volgen via ons online EWD klantportaal, wat zorgt voor transparantie en controle gedurende het gehele traject.
Tijdens de kwaliteitscontrole gaan we de producten van de eerste batch grondig controleren, meten, wegen en testen. Het checken van deze producten is onderdeel van onze kwaliteitscontrole. Bij onze kwaliteitscontroles maken we gebruik van de strikte AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) normen. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de producten worden geïnspecteerd volgens internationaal erkende kwaliteitsstandaarden.
De producten zijn gemaakt, gecontroleerd en klaar voor transport. Of je nu je goederen in Nederland wilt ontvangen, of direct vanuit de fabriek naar Amerika, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Australië of ergens anders wilt verzenden, wij regelen het transport voor je. Om dit soepel te laten verlopen hebben wij een geavanceerd shipment tracking systeem ontwikkeld, waarmee je real-time toegang hebt tot de locatie en status van je zendingen. Hierdoor blijf je op de hoogte en kun je de voortgang van je leveringen nauwlettend volgen. Daarnaast hebben we langdurige relaties opgebouwd met vervoerders en expediteurs, wat ons in staat stelt om tegen de juiste prijzen te transporteren vanuit Vietnam of China.
De complexe wereld van inklaring en douaneformaliteiten kunnen erg verwarrend zijn. Onze jarenlange ervaring in douaneafhandeling zorgt ervoor dat je producten zonder problemen worden ingeklaard. We zorgen voor de benodigde documentatie en coördineren met de relevante autoriteiten om een soepele invoer te garanderen.

For imports from China, some documents are required, waaay below the commercial invoice, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Similar documents are required for Vietnam. When importing from China and Vietnam, import duties and customs fees must be paid based on the category of goods and applicable tariffs. It is important to use the correct HS codes to determine the correct rates. It is advisable to hire a customs or import expert for all formalities.
